In 1964 was the birth of the ZUGBRÜCKE.

Once the saw mill of his grandfather, Manfred Gstettner established the "Hotel Grenzau" consisting of 6 guestrooms, a dance bar "Zugbrücke" and one ninepin alley. More and more guests came. Hence, within the following years, Mr. Gstettner expanded and converted both the flats in his neighbouring parents´s house and a next door house into guestrooms. Due to a lack of beds eleven containers were used as additional accommodation. In the mid 70s the expanding went on with a pub, three ninepin alleys and a table tennis hall.

In 1978 was the determining move towards the present: a new modern hotel facility with comfortable rooms, swimming pool and sauna arose. The next step was a larger table tennis hall with tribunes and the ninepin centre as it exists now.

1993 was the year the conference centre and Elysée restaurant were found.

In 1994, after several training and management courses in Germany and abroad, Olaf Gstettner, 27 years old by that time and son of Manfred Gstettner, stepped in to management supporting his father. Since his father´s retirement, Olaf Gstettner took over the role as owner and director of the ZUGBRÜCKE.

The latest milestone was set in 2002 with the building of a separate wellness and spa area spanning about 1500 m², and also the new hotel bar. Adding all up, today the ZUGBRÜCKE represents itself as a 4 star superior hotel with 138 guest rooms, various restaurants and extensive sports, leisure and wellness facilities.
